In July 2025, you are invited to explore the intricate art of Moroccan geometry, known as at-Tasțīr, through drawing Zillīj tiles patterns in the shape of Lūza (almond) used as public signs in Fes Medina. This course features three patterns.
Celebrating years of learning and practicing traditional Moroccan drawing, this event offers a chance to meet dedicated apprentices worldwide and view their beautiful works.
About the Instructor:
Master Haj Mokhtar El Fasiki's distinguished career in brass artistry began in 1957 as an apprentice. By 1968, he had achieved mastery, and since 1993, he has served as the respected head of the brass guild of Fes.
This apprenticeship project in Fes, Morocco aims to preserve and pass down traditional knowledge by providing art training to children. In a rapidly changing world, it is essential to ensure that the rich heritage of at-Tasṯīr: Moroccan Geometric Patterns, continues to thrive
